Do you and I see sin the way that God does? Do we understand in our hearts what is truly important to our heavenly Father? Do we share the same spiritual priorities that Jesus has? These are the questions I want to explore with you.

Watching our young people head off to class reminded me that learning doesn't end when we leave a classroom. In fact, I believe that if you follow Jesus, you are still in a school: the School of Christ. In this post I want to share what I taught recently at Gentry SDA Church about why lifelong learning matters spiritually, how the Bible describes Jesus as both student and teacher, and practical ways we can keep growing in the knowledge of God.

Sometimes I look back and think I’ve made things too complicated. Do you ever feel that way? When I wander off the path, I try to go back to the fundamentals. That’s what I want to share here: a simple, stubborn truth from Scripture about our words, our weapon, and our call to kindness.

We live in an age of constant change where identity and beliefs are confused, where truth often feels relative and misinformation is common. My aim this morning is to help us fix our hearts and minds on what is sure so we can stand firm as the end approaches.

On the eve of the original Passover, God instructed Israel to put the blood of a lamb on their doorposts as a token so the angel of death would pass over their homes. That physical sign pointed to a spiritual truth that applies to us today. Instead of doorposts, God asks that we receive the blood of Jesus into the doorway of our hearts.

When I say "worship," I'm speaking of total dedication — giving someone or something first place in your life. You can only safely worship one thing. Just like marriage, trying to serve two masters doesn't end well. Worship shows where your heart is. The original Greek and Aramaic words picture bowing down, prostration — showing total attention, submission, and allegiance.
