Announcements for Sept. 19, 2020

Harvest Tree Starting next week, Sept. 26, we will begin our food drive for our needy friends.   Please bring boxed cereal, peanut butter, and jelly.  When you arrive there will be a table by each door for you to put your items.

 

Board Meeting  All Board members are encourage to come Monday evening, Sept. 21, at 6:30 p.m., for board meeting.

 

Pathfinders We are very happy to announce that Pathfinders is ready to roll again.  We will begin Tuesday evening, Sept. 22, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Pathfinder building with registration and a fun honor.  Please have your Pathfinder bring their mask.  Masks will be utilized indoors and when social distancing is not feasible.

 

Jeanette Pettey Bible Study Group and also all October Birthdays -  You are invited for a get together on Sabbath afternoon, Oct. 10, in the Community Room. Come around 5:00 p.m. to visit with Jeanette, who will be in the area for a few days.   Bring sandwiches and salad for a light supper.  

 

Adopt a Dorm Daughter or Dorm Dude Today!  63 OAA dorm students need our prayers and Christian love.  This ministry involves sending the students notes, cards, and small gifts (mostly food) from now until Thanksgiving.  You may choose to let them know who you are, or keep your identity secret until Thanksgiving.  Contact Bonnie Pendergrass to adopt your student.

 

Thank you Check the table in the hallway for completed projects from the first Women’s Ministry event last Sunday.  We had a great time creating our projects. Classes will resume     on Sept. 20 and 27 at 1:00 p.m. at the home of Dona Young.

 

For Your Calendar   Women’s Ministry is planning a retreat on Sabbath Nov. 14 at the Youth Center.  Watch for further information to come.  There will be no charge for this event.

 

Birthday Helen Anderson will be turning 90 years old on Sept. 28. She is not able to be with us, but if you would like to send her a card for this special day the address is:

Prison Ministry needs your used copies of the Signs of the Time magazine.  We have a neat and secure way of blocking out your name and address so please do not cut it out nor use a felt tip pen to do that.  You may leave the magazines at the church office or on a chair on Ella Fisher's front porch. Thank you very much.

 

Baby Sprinkle You are invited to a Baby Sprinkle, (as opposed to a shower) in celebrating the arrival of Delta Gammanthaler. (She was born July 3rd.) Due to Covid restrictions and to make it easier on the family, we are asking you bring either diapers (Size 2 or larger) or a gift for a baby girl, Size 3-6 months or larger. Or a gift card to church on September 26th and leave it in the Cradle Roll/Tiny Tot Room.  We want to welcome our newest baby, daughter of Doug and Macey and big brother Redmond with love.
